MƒA Berkeley’s impact is far reaching; participants model and share best practices both inside and outside the program. Master Teachers become effective mentors, coaches, professional development facilitators, and instructional leaders within their schools and districts.
Many participants reach beyond the Bay Area by presenting at regional and national conferences and publishing articles in national journals. Students immediately benefit as MƒA Berkeley participants examine and refine their teaching practices.
As these accomplished teachers progress through the program, their influence expands first to their close colleagues, then to their departments and schools or districts, effectively influencing the teaching and learning experience for all students.
Participants directly impact their own students: approximately 175 per year for a total of 875 students over the course of their 5-year fellowship. As participants engage in leadership roles and impact the teaching practices of colleagues, the number of students who will benefit from an improved teaching and learning experience grows exponentially.
